Our wedding rings were designed by Doris Sommer-Rotenberg, who is a very dear friend of Alex and her mother.

Behind the scenes

Many thanks to the fabulous folks who made our wedding so special for us, our family, and our friends. Thanks especially to Deborah, JoAnne, and Dick, for all of their work and advice over the past few months!

Alex's dress was made by Maria Jung Bridal in Vancouver.

Her ruby slippers were made by Jack Townsend.

And that hair! those lips! were created by Civello Salon.

Rob's stylin' tux is from Harry Rosen.

His shirt and tie are from Mark James in Vancouver.

His groovy blue thistle was the inspiration of our florist, Jeff Hayder of Sissinghurst.

Our wedding was held in the Chinese Tomb of the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto. Click here to take a 3D tour of the room in which our ceremony was held. Christina Xavier, the ROM's event coordinator, brought everything together to wonderful effect.

Our ceremony was based on the form of a traditional Jewish wedding. We re-interpreted the ceremony to incorporate readings that reflected the spirit of the seven blessings at the heart of the traditional ceremony. We asked a number of our friends to read these blessings. Please click here to take a look at the readings we selected.

That fabulous malted chocolate ice cream was from Greg's Ice Cream, which is across the street from the ROM. Alex has been going to Greg's since she was 11, and took Rob there for an ice cream on the day they met.

And for those who need a little something along with their ice cream, we had a delicious chocolate cake from Dufflet's bakery in Toronto. The cake was topped with the china Kewpie dolls that were on Alex's grandparents' wedding cake.

Lance Hunter (left), Jamie Kennedy and the staff of Jamie Kennedy at the ROM made our fabulous meal: gazpacho, salad with pumpkin seed dressing, and grilled cornish hen or salmon. Them's good eating.

Neil Haller from Reportage Photography took lots and lots of pictures. If you see Neisl on the street please tell him how much you're looking forward to seeing his shots.
